FAQ
Questions people actually ask.
Answered in full and in the open — nothing here is behind a click, an account or a sales call. The five a first-time visitor is stopped by are also on the homepage; the rest live here, where they can be linked to.
How accurate is it?
Clear speech is easier to transcribe than overlapping voices or a noisy recording. Check names, numbers and quotations against the audio, then edit the text in the browser. The sample page shows real, unedited output in English and Japanese; there is no guaranteed accuracy percentage.
How long does transcription take?
Processing time depends on the recording length, language and current demand. The page updates as the job progresses, and an email arrives when the transcript is ready. You can leave it open or return later.
What languages are supported?
You can choose from 46 languages at checkout, including English, Spanish, German, French, Norwegian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic and Hindi, or use automatic detection. The language page lists all choices and limitations. Transcription keeps the spoken language; it does not translate it. Accuracy and speaker labels vary by language and recording.
What file types are supported?
MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, FLAC, OGG, WebM and Opus. Phone recordings (M4A) and video files (MP4) work as they are — there is nothing to convert first.
How does the $2.00 per hour pricing work?
$2.00 per hour of audio or video, billed per minute, with a $2.00 minimum per file. A 15-minute file and a 55-minute file both cost $2.00. A 90-minute file costs $3.00. There is no subscription and no monthly fee.
Do I have to buy credits?
No. There are no credit packs and nothing to top up or use before it expires. You pay for a file when you transcribe it, and if you never come back you are never charged again.
What if a transcription fails?
The card is authorized before processing, which may appear as a pending hold. If transcription fails, that hold is cancelled and no charge is captured. Your bank controls how soon the pending hold disappears.
What happens to my audio afterwards?
Audio is kept for 90 days from your last sign-in by default. You choose the period on the upload you are paying for — anything from delete-immediately to 90 days — and that choice becomes the default for your next one. The transcript itself stays in your account until you delete it.
Can I edit a transcript after it finishes?
Yes. Open it, click into a block and type. Cmd+Enter saves, Escape reverts. Speaker labels are editable too — rename “Speaker A” to “Marcos” once and every block updates.
